Visa of the Republic of Uzbekistan
According to the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan all foreign citizens (except some CIS countries) and stateless persons can enter Uzbekistan or travel through its territory for transit on the basis of entrance visas only.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons can get visas at the diplomatic representations and consular missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad on the basis of the visa support (confirmation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan).
Foreign citizens and stateless persons arriving from countries where there is no diplomatic representation or consular mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan can get visas upon arrival at the Visa Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Tashkent International Airport. In this case the inviting party in Uzbekistan must apply in advance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in due order, get visa confirmation (stamp) of the Visa Division of the Consular Department and forward it to the invited person. This confirmation should be shown by invited person while buying an air-ticket and passing through passport control and the visa shall be issued on its basis upon arrival at the Visa Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Tashkent International Airport.
Tourist visa
To obtain tourist visa foreign nationals of most countries need visa support (Letter of Invitation – LOI) from a local licensed tourism company.
Our company has such a license (410-08) issued by national Company “Uzbektourism” and we can provide visa support if you order any tour package through our company. In this case we recommend you to fill the visa support form on our web-site.
The following documents are necessary to be attached to that form – scanned copy of your passport (page with photo) and Certificate of employment where it is written (preferably in English) that you work in such a company and occupy such a position (for USA citizens Certificate of employment is not required). Such Certificate is needed even if you are going to stay a few days in Uzbekistan.
Note: passport expiry date must exceed the visa’s period of validity not less than 3 months.
After receiving all due documents from you we approach the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) where processing of visa application is up to 10 working days.
Note: For a transit visa in addition to the above mentioned documents travelers must have a visa of the country of final destination and travel documents with confirmed date of departure from Uzbekistan. In this case processing of visa application is 3 working days.
After successful visa processing MFA provides our tourist company with the unique number (telex number) which is also transferred by MFA (and not by tourist company!) to the Uzbek Embassy or Consulate in a country indicated for visa obtaining.
Important Place of visa issuance/obtaining must be agreed before approaching MFA. In case you wish to change the place of visa obtaining it may take about a week time.
Telex number is placed into the Letter of Invitation (LOI) which is sent by e-mail to a tourist. According to the new rule tourism company provides a tourist with LOI and filled in visa forms. Received documents should printed, visa forms signed by a tourist and photo attached. With all abovementioned documents a tourist should approach Uzbek Embassy/Consulate in relevant country, pay visa fee and obtain uzbek visa. Usually visa issuance takes 1-3 working days.
